Job summary

Zscaler is seeking a Principal Threat Researcher to lead adversary behavior analysis across Windows, macOS, Linux, and cloud environments. You will dissect advanced attack techniques, translate research into scalable detections, and influence product strategy.

This remote role reports to Threat Research management and requires deep security expertise. You will collaborate with detection engineers, intelligence analysts, and threat hunters to prioritize deliverables, mentor juniors, and drive

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies.
• 12+ years of security research experience.
• Security expertise across at least one OS and EDR platforms.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud-based detection.
• Proficient in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) and at least one compiled language.
• Experience with version control systems like Git/GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Scope and refine research initiatives across OS and major Cloud/SaaS providers.
• Analyze adversary techniques and develop scalable detection approaches.
• Engineer automated attack code and proofs of concept for detections.
• Collaborate with detection engineers, intelligence analysts, and threat hunters.
• Present findings clearly and mentor junior team members.
