Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Senior Security Research Engineer to lead Global Vulnerability Management initiatives. You will conduct vulnerability research, validate findings, and guide remediation while collaborating with security, engineering, and business teams to scale TEM capabilities.

You will mentor engineers, develop repeatable processes, and help evolve security analytics and automation across platforms. Remote-friendly role with location-based pay ranges in the US.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in information security, vulnerability management, or exposure management.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information security, or a related discipline.
• Experience leading complex technical workstreams across multiple teams without direct reporting authority.
• Hands-on vulnerability research, analysis, and remediation guidance.
• Experience across OS, networks, cloud services, applications, endpoints, containers, databases, or hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience with vulnerability discovery, assessment, validation, or exposure-management platforms and integrations.
• Knowledge of adversarial tactics and frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK) and ability to apply to prioritization.
• Experience using scripting, programming, APIs, or automation to improve security analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex Global Vulnerability Management workstreams across discovery, prioritization, validation, and remediation.
• Translate TEM goals into delivery plans, milestones, and repeatable operating practices.
• Conduct hands-on vulnerability research and analysis to validate conditions and provide remediation guidance.
• Improve vulnerability discovery and assessment across networks, cloud, endpoints, applications, containers, and more.
• Develop risk-based prioritization using threat intelligence and asset context.
• Lead validation activities and develop proofs of concept to distinguish material risk.
• Collaborate with teams to mobilize remediation and measure progress.
• Evolve GVM platforms, data, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Communicate trends, risks, and remediation progress to technical and leadership audiences.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical standards and procedures.
