Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Thermal Structural Engineer at the Woodland Hills, CA site, supporting advanced missile systems. The role focuses on thermal design, modeling, testing, and validation across product lifecycles with a team of engineers.

The candidate will model, simulate, and verify thermal performance, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and support design reviews. A DoD Secret clearance is required for eligibility; relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5 years of thermal engineering experience (or MS with 3 years).
• Proficiency with thermal-analysis software (e.g., FLUENT, FEMAP, SINDA).
• Experience with thermal-vacuum chambers, temperature-measurement instrumentation, and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop system-level thermal models for complete assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Build high-fidelity thermal models down to component junctions and analyze steady-state/ transient conditions.
• Prepare design reviews (PDR/CDR) and present results to stakeholders.
