Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Thermal Design and Analysis Engineer – Level 2 for the Baltimore, MD site, with an onsite-only requirement and a focus on developing, analyzing, and testing space hardware and subsystems across multiple programs.

You will work with senior staff, build thermal models, perform analyses, and present results. A TS/SCI clearance is preferred; strong collaboration and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI access.
• Must be able to work onsite daily at the Linthicum, MD facility.
• Working knowledge of thermal analysis software (IcePak, Sinda/Fluint, Thermal Desktop) or similar.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform steady state and transient thermal analyses of components and assemblies to evaluate performance and margins.
• Create system level thermal models and subassembly models down to component junction level.
• Provide technical guidance to programs and mentor junior engineers.
• Support design verification, test planning, and thermal test campaigns.
