Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering plus 2 years of relevant experience in a structural engineering position; Or master’s degree plus 0 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering plus 5 years of relevant experience for Principal Structural Engineer; Or master’s degree plus 3 years of experience.
• Steady state and transient thermal analysis using ANSYS.
• Linear and non-linear implicit, static and time dependent FEA using ANSYS or ABAQUS.

Responsibilities

• Develop a finite element analysis approach and solution for thermal and structural problems across materials including composites.
• Create structural models, mesh, boundary conditions, material properties and simulation methodology; interpret results and recommend design improvements.
• Support innovation by applying advanced analysis technology to new smart munition product development.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and present design directions to the design community in a timely manner.
