Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Thermal Systems Engineer in Linthicum, MD to advance thermal-control designs for spacecraft and avionics subsystems. You will lead engineering analyses, document results, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust thermal solutions. The role requires strong thermal engineering expertise, experience with thermal testing, and the ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of experience, or Master’s with 10+ years or PhD with 8+ years in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related fields.
• U.S Citizenship is required.
• No clearance required to start, but must obtain/maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Thermal design and/or analysis experience for spacecraft or avionics subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Develop thermal-systems requirements.
• Perform thermal analyses to optimize thermal-control designs for challenging problems.
• Document thermal analyses and designs.
• Review and approve drawings for thermal-design hardware content.
• Report analysis results and design details to management and customers.
• Plan and execute subsystem-level thermal tests with test engineering.
