Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Managing Engineer in Thermal Sciences for Energy Transition in Natick, MA. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to solve urgent, high-profile energy systems problems and expand capabilities in renewables, energy storage, and hydrogen systems.

The role requires a strong technical background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics, plus 5+ years of consulting experience in energy transition. Travel may be required and mentoring junior staff is expected.

Qualifications

M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.
5+ years of technical consulting experience in energy transition.
Strong background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
PE license preferred; business development experience is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication and client presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Providing technical consulting services and developing business across energy systems (wind, solar, hydrogen, storage, energy transmission, power plants).
Gathering and synthesizing information from diverse sources and communicating conclusions.
Promoting Exponent's expertise through client meetings, conferences, white papers, and seminars.
Managing and developing a team of junior consultants.
