Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Thermal Sciences Senior Associate for our Thermal Sciences Practice in Los Angeles, CA; Menlo Park, CA; Phoenix, AZ; or Seattle, WA. You will apply engineering and scientific techniques to real-world problems in failure analysis, combustion, wildfire risk mitigation, and product development.

The role requires a Ph.D. in a related field, hands-on lab/field experience in fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer, or combustion, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience developing and performing laboratory or field experiments in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer or combustion.
• At least two years of relevant work experience.
• Presently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing laboratory experiments and analytical or computational modeling.
