Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Thermal & Mechanical Packaging Engineer to design and optimize hardware for its data centers.

You will deliver thermal and mechanical solutions from circuit design through high-volume manufacturing, impacting AWS infrastructure and users. You will work with cross-functional teams, leverage CFD/FEA tools, and lead testing, measurement, and DOE activities to ensure performance, cost, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years industry experience in advanced packaging of semiconductors.
• 10+ years industry experience in mechanical design of semiconductor-based systems.
• Experience communicating with customers, technical, regulatory, business teams, and management to collect requirements and describe designs.
• Proficiency with simulation tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, COMSOL, FLOTHERM or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and build systems for large-scale computing infrastructure.
• Develop from circuit design to thermal and mechanical solutions; oversee from prototype to high-volume manufacturing.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to triage, debug and resolve issues across organization.
• Validate thermal models with hardware measurements and run DOEs.
