Amazon is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer for Data Center Design Engineering to lead energy-efficient mechanical systems and cross-functional collaboration across AWS data center projects.

You will oversee lifecycle from concept to deployment, guiding integration with hardware teams and optimizing facility performance. The role demands extensive experience in mission-critical facilities, a relevant engineering degree, and a track record of delivering complex data center solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of critical data center/mission critical mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in data center/mission critical design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center/mission critical equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement energy-efficient mechanical systems for next-generation data centers.
• Lead cross-functional teams in developing innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Oversee project lifecycle from conception through implementation, including budget management.
• Foster collaborative relationships with hardware teams to optimize facility-equipment integration.
• Guide continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and performance monitoring.
