Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Mk1 Thermal Mechanical Engineer III to join the MK1 Lunar Lander team. You will apply mechanical and thermal design expertise to develop layouts, drawings, and data sets using Creo and PLM tools, supporting cross-functional teams in selecting materials and processes for world-class aerospace hardware.

The role emphasizes design data release, GD&T, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to balance cost, schedule, and performance while delivering robust thermal hardware

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
• Strong mechanical design skills using Creo.
• Proficiency in drawing generation and release with Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Proficiency in fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies, BOMs, ICMs, and skeletons.
• Experience in designing active thermal hardware (tubing, radiators, coldplates, pump assemblies, etc.) and/or passive thermal hardware (MLI, TPS).
• Experience in cross-functional design teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design layouts and release data using CAD and PLM tools.
• Create and review engineering drawings to ensure alignment to specifications.
• Support engineering teams with mechanical layout and detailed design for parts and assemblies.
• Apply standard design/manufacturing methodologies to balance cost, schedule, and performance.
• Work with multi-functional teams selecting materials, processes, and suppliers for aerospace hardware.
