Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking a Thermal Mechanical Engineer III to join the MK1 Lunar Lander team. The role focuses on mechanical design leadership, detailing, and data releases using Creo and PLM tools, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety in aerospace hardware.

You will work across material selection, manufacturing processes, and suppliers to deliver world-class lander components and thermal hardware while maintaining GD&T standards and robust documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
• Strong Creo-based mechanical design experience with CAD assemblies.
• Experience with GD&T, tolerances, and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Familiarity with data release via Creo/Windchill and MBd workflows.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design layouts and create detail parts and assemblies in CAD/PLM data.
• Review drawings to ensure alignment with specifications and standards.
• Support mechanical layout and detail design for structural parts and assemblies.
• Apply design techniques to plan, layout, and maintain engineering datasets.
• Implement standard methodologies to balance cost, schedule and performance.
• Collaborate with material, manufacturing, and supplier teams for aerospace hardware.
