Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington is seeking a Thermal Mechanical Engineer III to join the MK1 Lunar Lander team, applying advanced design methods to help deliver spaceflight hardware. You will develop mechanical layouts, create detail drawings, and release data using Creo and PLM tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure performance and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
• Strong mechanical design skills using Creo.
• Proficiency in Creo Parametric and Windchill for drawing release.
• Proficiency in fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies, BOMs, ICMs, and skeletons.
• Experience in designing active or passive thermal hardware.
• Experience in cross-functional design teams for materials and manufacturing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design layouts, create detail part and assembly drawings/MBDs, and release data using CAD and PLM tools.
• Create and review engineering drawings to meet specifications and standards.
• Support engineering teams with mechanical layout and detail design for components and assemblies.
• Apply company techniques to plan, layout, and maintain engineering data datasets.
• Implement standard methodologies to balance cost, schedule and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to select materials, processes, and suppliers for aerospace hardware.
