Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Thermal Mechanical Engineer III to join the MK1Lunar Lander team. You will apply mechanical design expertise to develop layouts, drawings, and data sets using Creo and PLM tools, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet specifications for aerospace hardware.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical design, GD&T knowledge, and experience with large CAD assemblies. Strong communication skills are essential for success in this leadership-driven environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
• Strong mechanical design skills using Creo.
• Proficiency with Creo Parametric and Windchill for drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies and BOMs.
• Experience in thermal hardware design (active or passive).
• Cross-functional collaboration with materials, manufacturing and supplier teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design layouts and release data sets using CAD and PLM tools.
• Create, review and ensure drawings align with specifications and standards.
• Support engineering teams with mechanical layout and detail designs for parts and assemblies.
• Apply design and manufacturing standard methodologies to balance cost, schedule and performance.
• Collaborate with teams selecting materials, processes, and suppliers for aerospace hardware.
