Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Thermal Drafter III to join the MK1 Lunar Lander team in the Greater Seattle Area. You will prepare layouts, craft detail parts and assemblies, and release data sets using CAD and PLM tools.

Required are 5+ years in aerospace, proficiency with Creo Parametric and Windchill, and strong GD&T knowledge. You will collaborate across engineering teams on thermal hardware designs, with emphasis on accuracy and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design.
• 5+ years of aerospace development or similar industry.
• Proficiency with Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Familiarity with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies, BOMs, ICMs, and skeletons.
• Experience in designing active thermal hardware (tubing, radiators, etc.) and/or passive thermal hardware (MLI, TPS).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design layouts, create detail parts and assemblies, and release datasets using CAD and PLM tools.
• Review engineering drawings to ensure alignment with specifications and standards.
• Support engineering teams in mechanical layout and detail design for structural parts and assemblies.
• Apply company techniques to plan, layout, and maintain engineering data.
• Implement standard engineering/manufacturing practices to balance cost, schedule and performance.
