Job summary

Coherent Corp. is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineer — Advanced Thermal Management in Newark, DE to transition products from development to repeatable manufacturing.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, supply chain, product management and customer teams to define processes and enable scale-up. The role focuses on process development, pilot builds, supplier readiness, and yield/cost improvements for liquid cooling and advanced materials assemblies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years in manufacturing/processing engineering or NP I/advanced materials.
• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Experience with pilot production, NPI, process development and scale-up.

Responsibilities

• Own manufacturing engineering support, process development, and scale-up planning for advanced thermal products.
• Lead activities for semiconductor packaging hardware, liquid cooling components, and related assemblies.
• Develop process flows, routings, work instructions, inspection plans, and tooling needs.
• Support transition of development processes to controlled manufacturing.
• Identify manufacturability risks, gaps, yield issues, and cost drivers; work on improvements.
• Coordinate pilot builds, qualification builds, and early production builds.
• Drive yield improvement, cycle-time reductions, and cost reductions; support root cause analysis.
