Cisco Systems, Inc. in San Jose, CA seeks a Thermal Engineering Technical Leader to drive design, simulation, validation, and production readiness of liquid and air-cooled thermal solutions for high-performance networking and compute platforms.

You will own modeling, testing, and correlation with hardware design teams, lead cross-functional efforts across suppliers, ODMs, and internal groups, and help roadmap next-generation cooling technologies for ASIC, optical, and power systems.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with MS preferred in a relevant field.
• 8+ years of experience in thermal/mechanical design for electronics.
• Direct experience with liquid cooling systems (cold plates, manifolds, pumps, CDUs).
• Strong knowledge of air-cooled solutions (heat pipes, vapor chambers, TIMs).
• Hands-on validation and troubleshooting with thermal data acquisition tools.
• Proficient in CFD and simulation-to-test correlation.
• Adaptive learner comfortable with research and sensing-driven work.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, simulation, validation, and production readiness of thermal solutions (liquid and air-cooled).
• Own modeling, test plans, and correlation with physical testing and simulations.
• Collaborate with suppliers, ODMs, and internal hardware teams to evaluate and implement cooling technologies.
• Define design parameters and roadmap next-generation thermal strategies.
