Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Server Liquid Systems in Austin, TX to join our New Product Development team.

You will design, analyze, and test advanced liquid cooling hardware such as processor cold plates, RDHX units, TTVs, manifolds, and piping, and will document and support production and supplier engagements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply CFD/FEA—along with Creo models—and contribute to design optimization, while traveling 10-15% for supplier visits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering must have
• 5+ years in mechanical design involving thermal-mechanical solutions, fluids, or cooling hardware
• Proficient in Creo, able to produce 3D models and drawings
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and customer requirements
• Familiarity with data center cooling technologies and ASHRAE guidelines preferred

Responsibilities

• Design cold plates, RDHX assemblies, manifolds, piping, and cooling components for new products
• Develop microchannel geometries optimized for pressure drop and heat transfer
• Support CFD/FEA analyses for channel design and structural integrity
• Create and maintain BOMs with high accuracy; produce documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support manufacturing during prototypes and production
