Vertiv is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the development of new products within the Advanced Development group of the Thermal BU. You will work across mechanical, electrical, and process engineering, coordinating with production and offering teams to drive innovative cooling architectures for data center applications.

You will perform CFD/1D modeling, develop prototypes, and plan proof-of-concept tests to validate designs.

Formación

• BSME or related degree minimum.
• Advanced Degree preferred.
• 7-10 years of experience.
• Understanding of electrical schematic and pneumatic drawings (P&ID).
• Understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently or in a team.
• Proven track record delivering quality products to market through the product development process.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Experience with 3D CAD software, CREO 4.0+.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct advanced development tasks to inform NPDI teams designing new cooling systems for high-density data center environments.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, process engineering and production teams; participate in design reviews and cost-target discussions.
• Perform engineering calculations (stress, heat transfer, fluid mechanics) to verify design requirements.
• Perform CFD and/or 1D modeling to optimize cooling system architectures balancing performance, efficiency, footprint, manufacturability, and cost.
• Develop solutions to complex problems with innovative approaches where little precedent exists.
• Develop prototypes to support advanced product design.
• Plan and oversee proof-of-concept testing and validate or modify designs and analytical models.
• Compile reports and design guidelines for knowledge transfer and standardization.
• Scout technologies from suppliers, universities, startups for potential integration.
• Support University-Industry collaborations and partner interactions.
• Interact with employees, outside vendors and suppliers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
