Job summary

Anduril Industries in Boulder, CO is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to own thermal design aspects across hardware programs. You will build analytical models, validate designs with testing, and mature prototypes for rapid production.

The role requires 7+ years in thermal analysis, MS or higher in engineering/physics, and experience with STAR-CCM+/ANSYS. This position offers a strong benefits package and equity grants as part of total compensation.

Qualifications

MS or higher in engineering or applied physics with focus on heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
7+ years of experience in a thermal analysis or thermo-physics analysis role.
Thermal FEA experience with STAR-CCM+, ANSYS, Icepak, or Flotherm.
Familiarity with Matlab or Python for developing analytical models and data processing.
Experience with test-model correlation and test-based input parameter characterization.
Ability to work independently and with diverse teams.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

Perform first-order hand calculations and MATLAB/Python models to guide design decisions.
Develop CFD models and simulations to predict temperatures and heat transfer.
Create and correlate FEMs for imaging platforms with design schedules.
Collaborate with environmental test engineers for tests and data processing.
Prepare technical reports to present findings to teams and customers.
Keep up-to-date with advances in thermal analysis, materials, and industry standards.
