Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in test infrastructure, software test automation, CI engineering, or closely related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python or another general-purpose language with experience creating test frameworks and automation tooling.
• Hands-on background designing, operating, and scaling CI/CD systems used by engineering teams.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or lab-based test environments, or working close to physical hardware.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end integration testing of system software; design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for quantum computing systems on shared test environments.
• Extend automated test coverage of operator-facing tooling and workflows used to operate and calibrate systems.
• Design, build, and operate CI infrastructure to catch integration bugs early and keep it fast and reliable.
• Define and evolve system-level test strategy; identify coverage gaps and build tests and instrumentation to close them.
• Own integration-test triage and reporting; drive failures to root cause and provide actionable feedback to owning teams.
• Manage lifecycle of test system fleet across IonQ product lines; establish baselines and coordinate upgrades and decommissioning.
• Champion testability across component teams and promote interfaces and test hooks.
