Job summary

IonQ is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer for the Applications Engineering team. You will help transform prototypes into real-world software, APIs, and SaaS solutions, shaping how quantum computing is used by developers and businesses.

You will collaborate across teams to build clear interfaces and visualizations, apply quantum solutions to domain problems, and contribute to internal tools and library interfaces. Hybrid work with world-class compensation is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years as a full stack developer with JavaScript, Python, or Golang.
• 5+ years of experience in REST, GraphQL, or gRPC frameworks.
• Experience in scientific computing or quantum computing.
• Experience building UIs with data visualization tools like three.js, D3, WebGL.
• Track record of shipping applications solving real business problems.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI coding tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Create simple and clear interfaces in cooperation with domain experts.
• Design API endpoints and intuitive software library interfaces.
• Collaborate with Applications, Developer Tools, and Field Engineering teams.
• Mentor junior developers on the team.
