Job summary

IonQ, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Release Engineering team.

You will define and automate the end-to-end release process for our quantum computing systems, creating a scalable, versioned release across software and firmware components. You will publish standards for artifact promotion, build the release infrastructure, and collaborate with multiple component teams to deliver auditable, reusable release workflows that support multiple product generations.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in release or build engineering.
Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or related field.
Experience with artifact repositories and promotion workflows.

Responsibilities

Define and automate the end-to-end release process: assembling software and firmware components into a versioned, integrated release.
Define and publish the standards that govern how components version, package, and qualify artifacts for inclusion.
Evolve the release process into a push-button workflow to reduce release time and improve developer efficiency.
Establish a comprehensive release manifest mechanism for auditable component/version documentation.
Design and implement the release infrastructure to support multiple generations of the quantum operating system.
Collaborate with component teams to bring artifacts into a coherent, auditable release model.
Support customer system builds through automated release deployment and troubleshooting.
