Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated test solutions for REST APIs and web UIs. The role requires hands-on Linux, Python automation, and containerized testing within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab.

The successful candidate will evolve internal automation frameworks, migrate legacy Robot Framework implementations, and work with SQL validations, while holding an active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required with 12+ years of related experience; exceptions considered with more experience.
• Strong Linux and Bash scripting experience; able to process large data sets and logs.
• Advanced Python automation development, including Pytest-based frameworks.
• Docker (or Podman) expertise including image creation and maintenance for CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with Jenkins and GitLab pipelines, running containerized workloads and auto test stages.
• REST API testing including authentication flows and negative tests.
• Robot Framework UI automation with Selenium; solid automation architecture/maintenance.
• Experience migrating test harnesses (Robot Framework to modern frameworks like Playwright).
• SQL querying with SQL Developer; integrate validation steps in tests.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automation for back-end REST APIs and web UIs.
• Build a scalable test harness with CI/CD integration and data setup/teardown.
• Advance Python-based automation with Pytest fixtures and data strategies.
• Create Docker/Podman images to enable consistent automation across environments.
• Integrate automated tests into Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD for reliable runs.
• Utilize Linx/bash for log analysis and data reporting from tests.
• Support UI automation with Robot Framework and Selenium; improve stability.
• Plan migrations from legacy Robot Framework to modern platforms (e.g., Playwright).
• Write SQL queries and include them in automated validations.
