Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to design and implement automated tests for mission-critical software, primarily using Playwright for UI validation and Bruno or Postman for API testing.

The role involves building scalable automation frameworks, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with Agile teams to ensure secure, reliable software delivery across multiple national security programs. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required per contract.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree with 6–12 years of relevant experience.
• 8+ years in software test automation or quality engineering.
• Hands-on Playwright UI test development.
• API tests with Bruno and/or Postman.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript programming for automation.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD (Jenkins/GitHub Actions).
• Agile/Scrum experience on software teams.
• Git source control proficiency.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, HTTP, JSON, and auth.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain Playwright automated tests for web apps.
• Develop API tests with Bruno and Postman to validate services.
• Build scalable test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to define acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and maintain automated test coverage.
• Create and execute test plans and cases from user stories and specs.
• Validate APIs: HTTP methods, status codes, JSON payloads, auth, and errors.
• Analyze results, troubleshoot failures, and log defects in Jira.
• Improve testability with developers and reduce manual regression.
• Promote test automation standards and reusable components.
• Support test data, environments, and cross-team testing.
• Mentor junior engineers and push quality engineering practices.
