Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation seeks a Senior Test Engineer to lead complex testing programs across mission equipment. You will develop test plans, mentor junior engineers, and ensure product performance and compliance with industry standards from design to post-production follow-up.

The role emphasizes system testing for ISR, aviation, and security domains. An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required; travel may be needed as part of program support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in test engineering or a related role.
• Expert understanding of test and evaluation principles and methodologies.
• Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Advanced knowledge of requirements management, system design, and systems integration.
• Demonstrated experience planning, conducting, and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities.
• Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical troubleshooting techniques.
• An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex and high-stakes testing projects.
• Plan, assign, and track test-related work to meet program schedules, coordinating inter-department support and external stakeholders.
• Manage planning documentation workflows by coordinating latest reviewed versions.
• Coordinate test planning activities including instrumentation requirements and pre-test briefings.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for test execution and resolve scheduling issues across teams.
• Track and report test execution status including instrumentation configuration and post-flight data reviews.
• Manage the reporting lifecycle, monitoring report development and final reports release.
• Capture and maintain program lessons learned through test-specific sessions.
