Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in the United States is seeking a Test Engineer II to develop and execute test plans for complex aerospace and defense systems. You will validate requirements, coordinate with cross‑functional teams, and ensure performance and compliance throughout design maturity.

This role emphasizes system testing across mission equipment such as communications, navigation, and surveillance. It does not require software testing knowledge, but requires strong V&V fundamentals,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in test engineering or a related role.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficient understanding of test and evaluation principles and methodologies.
• Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Knowledge of requirements management, system design, and systems integration.
• Exposure to planning, conducting and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities.
• Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical trouble shooting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed test plans and procedures for complex systems.
• Conduct system, sub-system, and component-level testing, including functional, performance, and environmental tests.
• Analyze test data and provide comprehensive reports on test results.
• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and facilitate resolution of issues and anomalies.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to refine test requirements and methodologies.
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of test equipment.
• Generate content and participate in internal/external meetings and briefs.
