Echodyne Corp. is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to focus on On-Radar Firmware. You will design and execute tests for embedded radar software, analyze requirements, and ensure quality across firmware and SDK interactions, while mentoring junior engineers.

The role involves hands-on testing, including hardware-in-the-loop, and collaboration with firmware and software teams to strengthen testability and overall product quality. An exempt, full-time position based in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software testing, firmware QA, or embedded systems test engineering.
• Experience validating feature-level behavior, commands, and SDK interactions.
• Knowledge of embedded systems testing principles and design techniques.
• Experience with test automation and Python preferred.
• Experience with hardware-dependent environments and flashing firmware.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain feature-level and end-to-end test scenarios for embedded systems, radar firmware, and SDKs.

Echodyne is seeking a SENIOR TEST ENGINEER to focus on On-Radar Firmware.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, execute, and maintain feature-level and end-to-end software test scenarios for complex embedded systems, radar firmware, and SDKs
• Analyze product requirements and architecture to define test strategies, coverage, and acceptance criteria for radar functionality and supported commands
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test reports; manage defects through resolution
• Perform manual, exploratory, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to identify product risks, edge cases, and failure modes
• Build and maintain automated tests where they provide clear value, contributing to existing frameworks
• Collaborate with firmware, product, and software teams to improve testability and overall quality
• Support test environments, automation infrastructure, and test execution across projects and releases
• Mentor junior engineers and promote strong testing practices and a quality-first mindset

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience in software testing, firmware QA, or embedded systems test engineering roles
• Strong experience validating feature-level behavior, supported device commands, and SDK interactions
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and test design techniques for embedded systems
• Experience with test automation, including writing and maintaining automated tests (Python preferred)
• Experience working in environments with hardware and software dependencies, including flashing firmware and interacting directly with physical devices
• Practical knowledge of Linux environments, Git workflows, and CI/CD concepts as applied to embedded systems
• Understanding of software/firmware development practices, hardware debugging, defect investigation, and root cause analysis

The expected annual salary range for this role is

$137,196 - $205,382 USD
