Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to own automated QA across the BASIS program. You will design, develop, and maintain automated tests, ensure integration with the DevSecOps pipeline, and drive test strategy with a focus on accessibility and security testing.

This 100% remote role requires strong collaboration with developers and government stakeholders to ensure release readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD.
• Must be US Citizen.
• Able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Cybersecurity workforce certification (e.g., Security+, CASP+).
• Demonstrated hands-on experience designing automated test frameworks and scripts using Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, Python, Java, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices within Agile.
• Proficiency with JIRA for defect tracking and reporting.
• Experience developing RTMs, UAT plans, and formal testing documentation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps integration.
• Experience with Section 508 accessibility testing and VPATs.
• Strong communication and documentation skills for QA status reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for unit to end-to-end testing.
• Ensure automation is integrated into the DevSecOps pipeline with minimal oversight.
• Apply Test-Driven Development and align test coverage with requirements.
• Lead automation assessments and report completion estimates.
• Expand regression coverage by automating legacy tests per schedule.
• Mentor junior QA engineers on best practices and tool usage.
• Develop RTMs, testing reports, release notes, and SVDs.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and QA status reporting.
