Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to independently execute automated QA activities on the BASIS program. The role focuses on automation-first QA, test design, documentation, defect management, and security testing integration, with 100% remote work.

You will oversee test automation across Agile sprints, mentor junior engineers, coordinate with developers and Government stakeholders, and ensure release readiness across the deployment pipeline.

Qualifications

• Must have 8+ years with BS/BA, 6+ years with MS/MA, or 3+ years with PhD.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Cybersecurity workforce certification (e.g., Security+, CASP+) preferred.
• Hands-on experience designing automated test frameworks and scripts (Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, Python, Java).
• Experience with TDD and Agile sprint cycles.
• Proficiency with JIRA for defects, sprints, and reporting.
• Experience in RTMs, UAT plans, and formal testing documentation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps.”
• Accessibility testing (Section 508/WCAG 2.0 AA) testing and VPAT preparation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for unit to end-to-end testing across the application portfolio.
• Ensure automated tests are executable within each Agile sprint and integrated into DevSecOps pipeline.
• Lead Test Automation State Assessments and provide automation completion estimates.
• Mentor junior QA engineers on automation best practices and tool usage.
• Manage defect lifecycle and conduct root-cause analysis in JIRA.
• Lead Section 508 accessibility testing and VPAT preparation.
• Coordinate performance and environment testing in ProdSim and DR scenarios.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and QA reporting to leadership.
