Job summary

Sun Life U.S. is seeking a Senior Operational Engineer to join the CCIO team, focusing on enterprise telephony and contact centre platforms across cloud services and AI-enabled improvements.

Work with architects, engineers, and operations to design scalable, secure solutions while ensuring compliance in a regulated financial services environment. Strong ITIL, Agile, and DevOps experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IT or equivalent.
• 3-5 years designing, delivering, and supporting cloud-based solutions.
• 2+ years AWS and enterprise telephony experience (Amazon Connect / Teams Telephony).
• Experience with Python for AWS Lambda.
• Understanding of cloud architecture and AWS service capabilities.
• Experience in regulated environments with security, privacy, compliance and risk considerations.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and Agile delivery.

Responsibilities

• Plan, migrate, and modernize Financial Centres onto Microsoft Teams Telephony.
• Gather requirements with stakeholders and develop telephony and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Design scalable, secure cloud infrastructure aligned with enterprise standards.
• Develop High-Level Designs and implementation approaches for telephony and cloudInfra.
• Support Amazon Connect and AWS services for reliability and performance.
• Contribute to DevOps practices including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and monitoring.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve operations and user experience.
• Provide mentoring and create knowledge resources for operations teams.
