Job summary

Sun Life U.S. is seeking a Senior Operational Engineer to join the Contact Centre Infrastructure Operations team.

You will design, implement, and operate enterprise telephony and cloud-based platforms including Microsoft Teams Telephony and Amazon Connect, with an AI-forward mindset to modernize the infrastructure and improve employee and client experiences. You will partner with stakeholders and engineers to develop high-level designs, implement scalable solutions, and contribute to DevOps

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent education/experience.
• 3-5 years designing, delivering, and supporting cloud-based tech solutions.
• 2+ years supporting AWS services and enterprise telephony, preferably Amazon Connect or Teams Telephony.
• Experience with AWS Lambda solutions using Python.
• Understanding of cloud architecture and AWS services.
• Experience in regulated environments with security/compliance considerations.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident/change/problem).
• Experience in Agile delivery and with distributed teams.
• Experience managing AWS environments and cloud infrastructure.
• DevOps experience with Terraform, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated AI mindset and applying AI/automation to business problems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, migrate, and modernize Financial Centres onto Microsoft Teams Telephony.
• Gather requirements and develop telephony and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Support scalable, secure cloud-based solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Create High-Level Designs and detailed implementation approaches for telephony/cloud infra.
• Maintain and optimize Amazon Connect and AWS services for reliability and performance.
• Participate in Agile teams and promote CI/CD, automation, and monitoring.
