Job summary

Sun Life U.S. is seeking a Senior Operational Engineer to join the CCIO team.

You will design, deliver, and support enterprise telephony and contact centre platforms, including Microsoft Teams Telephony and Amazon Connect, with an AI-forward mindset to modernize our communications infrastructure. You will collaborate with architects, engineers and operations to create scalable designs, drive innovation, and ensure security, governance and reliability, applying cloud and automation skills across

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or equivalent.
3-5 years designing, delivering, and supporting cloud-based technology solutions.
2+ years hands-on AWS and enterprise telephony experience (Amazon Connect / Teams Telephony).
Experience developing AWS Lambda solutions using Python.
Understanding of cloud architecture principles and AWS services.
Experience in regulated environments with security, privacy, compliance and risk management.
Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management).
Experience with Agile delivery and distributed teams.
Experience managing AWS environments and cloud infrastructure.
Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Plan, prioritize, and execute migration initiatives for modernization of Financial Centres onto Microsoft Teams Telephony.
Gather requirements with stakeholders and architects to develop telephony and AI-enabled capabilities.
Support scalable, secure, and maintainable cloud-based solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
Develop High-Level Designs and detailed designs for telephony and cloud infrastructure.
Support Amazon Connect and AWS services to ensure reliability and performance.
Participate in Agile teams and contribute to DevOps practices and automation.
Identify opportunities to leverage AI and cloud-native services to improve efficiency and client experience.
Provide mentoring and create documentation for operations teams.
Create operating procedures and knowledge articles; stay current with tech trends.
