Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Telemetry (TM) and Flight Termination Systems (FTS) Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive full lifecycle design for TM/FTS subsystems.

The role emphasizes analog/mixed-signal circuit design, system-level architecture, and cross-functional collaboration. Onsite responsibilities include mentoring engineers and ensuring compliance with RCC, FCC, NSA standards within defense programs and will require a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in electronics design at system/subsystem level.
• Deep experience with analog and mixed-signal circuit design (FET/BJT, op-amps, filters, A/D, level shifting).
• Experience with design specifications and analysis tools (MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica).

Responsibilities

• Lead system and circuit-level architecture design for TM and FTS subsystems.
• Drive full lifecycle development of PCBA designs from requirements through integration and qualification.
• Lead technical reviews, failure investigations, and cross-functional teams.
• Oversee analog and mixed-signal circuit design, testing, and documentation.
• Generate engineering artifacts to demonstrate compliance with program, performance, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and shape engineering practices.
