Job summary

State of Delaware seeks a Telecommunications/Network Technician IV to oversee and direct complex networking tasks across multiple systems. You will configure and maintain LAN hardware, test and repair networks, and provide guidance to end users and junior staff.

The role requires handling system upgrades, security policy enforcement, and coordination with agency staff. Telework is eligible under the state's ARP policy and onboarding includes pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• At least three years experience administering computer data networks including troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving network problems.
• At least three years experience installing, testing, and configuring computer data networks and related hardware.
• Six months experience in computer data network design or redesign.
• Knowledge of IT project management including planning, scheduling and status reporting.

Responsibilities

• Configures, installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and monitors LAN hardware/software to ensure connectivity.
• Identifies and resolves network malfunctions including remote access; restarts network after disruptions; runs system backups.
• Provides customer service through the service desk to resolve issues and maintains problem/solution databases.
• Performs routine network systems administration, manages access rights, security procedures, and equipment inventory.
• Plans, schedules, installs and tests software/hardware upgrades and coordinates network changes with staff and vendors.
