Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a General Superintendent to oversee all field operations for large telecommunications and low-voltage projects. This role leads field teams and is responsible for safety, quality, scheduling, budget, productivity, and successful project delivery from kickoff through customer turnover.

You will supervise Superintendents and technicians, manage labor and materials, review blueprints, and ensure documentation is complete while driving continuous improvement on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in telecommunications, low-voltage, or related construction.
• 5+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
• 3+ years as Lead Communications Technician or similar field leadership role.
• Experience managing large, complex projects from scope through completion and turnover.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications installation, structured cabling, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Experience managing labor, schedules, job costs, materials, quality, and safety.
• Strong customer-facing, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Willingness to travel and work in active construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all field operations for large/complex telecom and low-voltage projects from kickoff through turnover.
• Lead and manage Superintendents, technicians, and field teams—staffing, scheduling, training, productivity, and performance.
• Ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, budget, and customer requirements.
• Manage project execution including labor distribution, materials, inventory, and installation progress.
• Monitor project financial performance (job costs, invoicing, change orders, profitability).
• Serve as primary on-site customer contact, attend construction meetings, address concerns.
• Conduct site walks and quality checks ensuring blueprints/specs are met.
• Troubleshoot technical/operational issues impacting delivery.
• Maintain accurate project documentation (work orders, change orders, closeout packages).
• Identify opportunities to improve field processes and overall performance.
• Promote strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
