Job summary

Technibus, Inc. is seeking a Telecom Designer to join our national IES Design Branch. The role focuses on low voltage telecommunications infrastructure design and consulting for tech-enabled spaces, handling multiple projects simultaneously with precision and high-quality output.

You will lead design efforts, collaborate with architects and end users, review drawings, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely, cost-efficient solutions that meet customer and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or related field.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Willingness to travel within the United States as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with low voltage design and construction processes.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a key member of the project design team with expertise in telecommunications systems.
  • Lead projects, perform design work, and delegate production tasks following code requirements.
  • Meet with clients to assess system needs and maintain strong client relations.
  • Engage in design meetings to determine project goals and requirements.
  • Collaborate with CAD/BIM staff to develop construction drawings and system layouts.
  • Review submittals and coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers.
  • Provide complete project design, space layouts, and material selections.
  • Attend design meetings with end users or contractors, in person or virtually.
  • Review drawings and RFPs to ensure alignment with standards and quality.
  • Develop and layout construction schedules with input from end users and operations.
  • Act as liaison between sales, PM, and operations during project turnover.
  • Source vendors to obtain best value and lead times for materials.
  • Ensure design work meets customer and company quality and safety standards.
  • Participate in training sessions on technical requirements.
  • Handle other responsibilities as assigned.
