Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications design, with at least five years of experience, leading design efforts and ensuring the quality of telecommunications systems.

Salary ranges from USD 57.00 to USD 78.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Telecom Systems Engineer

Can be remote – prefer someone near Jacobs offices in Tempe, Pittsburgh or Portland if possible but not req.

USD 57.00 /hr - USD 78.00 /hr

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or four-year non-technical degree
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in telecommunications design and construction industry
• Knowledge & application of telecommunications industry association (TIA) standards
• Knowledge & application of BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Services International) design practices
• Knowledge & application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements
• Experience leading a telecommunications design team
• Experience editing design and construction specifications
• Experience with start-up and commissioning of telecommunications systems
• Experience estimating and scheduling design efforts for large multi-building projects with multiple phases and design packages
• Strong structured cabling design background
• Proficiency with Bluebeam
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency with Navisworks

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Bachelor’s degree
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Services International) RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) credential
• Project management experience
• Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
• At least 4 years of telecommunications design experience in semiconductor industry
• Knowledge and design experience with emergency responder radio and distributed antenna (DAS) systems
• Experience in providing quality assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others
• Other Certifications:
  • BICSI OSP (Outside Plant)
  • BICSI RTPM (Registered Telecommunications Project Manager)
