Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Telecommunications Designer to sit in any of our offices or work remotely. You will design Outside Plant Pathways and building systems, including MMR/IDF layouts, Cable Tray layouts, Wireless AP layouts, and structured Cabling infrastructure to support the Controls Network.

You will work with BIM/CAD tools to produce 2D drawings and 3D models, design low voltage systems, and lead a telecom design team while mentoring junior designers on projects across the United States.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience designing low voltage systems for high performing commercial, industrial, or mission critical/data center buildings.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adhering to policies.

Responsibilities

• Design BIM/CAD drawings supporting multiple engineering disciplines.
• Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D BIM models using Revit or equivalent.
• Design low voltage systems including telecommunications, audio visual, security, and control integrations.
• Meet required schedules while delivering quality work.
• Lead Telecom design team on projects and mentor junior designers.
• Perform site surveys and evaluate existing conditions.
