Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Telecom Designer to join our national Design Branch. The designer will be highly skilled in the design of low voltage telecommunications infrastructure and will provide consulting and design services to our clients for technology enhanced spaces.

The role requires leading multiple projects, coordinating with architects, CAD/BIM staff, and vendors to ensure quality, accuracy and timely delivery, while traveling within the United States as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Minimum of five (5) years of low-voltage design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; RCDD or related low-voltage credential strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and manage design work, delegating production tasks.
• Meet with clients (architects and end users) to assess system needs and project requirements.
• Collaborate with CAD/BIM staff to produce telecom construction drawings and systems drawings.
• Review submittals, coordinate with architects, contractors, and other consultants.
• Develop space layouts and select materials that meet customer and company standards.
• Attend design meetings with end users and contractors, in person or virtually.
