Job summary

Verizon is seeking an experienced Red Team Operator to proactively identify vulnerabilities in telecom infrastructure, applications, and processes. You will emulate adversarial techniques to test defenses and improve security posture across telco networks, cloud, and enterprise systems.

You will collaborate with internal teams to simulate APTs, tailor engagements for 4G/5G environments, and deliver comprehensive reports with remediation recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
• Strong understanding of 4G/5G protocols and interfaces (GTP, Diameter, SS7, S1-MME, S1-U, S11, HTTP/2 Service-Based Architecture).
• Strong understanding of 4G/5G core network architecture and supporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Adversary Emulation: conduct red team exercises mimicking realistic threats targeting telco systems.
• Vulnerability Exploitation: identify, exploit, and report vulnerabilities in telco infrastructure.
• Post-Engagement Reporting: deliver technical reports and executive summaries with findings and remediation.
• Collaboration: work with blue team to develop detection and prevention strategies.
• Threat Intelligence: stay updated on attack techniques relevant to telecoms.
• Continuous Improvement: provide insights to improve security posture with peers in security and operations.
