Job summary

Verizon is seeking an experienced Red Team Operator to proactively identify vulnerabilities within its telco infrastructure, apps, and processes. You will emulate real-world adversaries, test defenses, and collaborate with internal teams to improve security across 4G/5G networks, cloud environments, and enterprise systems.

The role emphasizes adversary emulation, vulnerability discovery, and detailed reporting, with a hybrid work setup including remote work and in-office days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
• Strong understanding of 4G/5G protocols and interfaces including GTP, Diameter, SS7, S1-MME, S1-U, and S11, HTTP/2 Service-Based Architecture.
• Strong understanding of 4G/5G core network architecture and supporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Adversary Emulation: conduct red team exercises targeting telco-specific systems.
• Vulnerability Exploitation: identify, exploit, and report vulnerabilities in telco infrastructure.
• Post-Engagement Reporting: deliver technical reports and executive summaries with findings and remediation recommendations.
• Collaboration: work with blue team to develop detection and prevention strategies.
• Threat Intelligence: stay updated on attack techniques relevant to telecommunications.
• Continuous Improvement: provide insights to enhance security posture with peers.
