Job summary

Verizon is seeking an experienced Red Team Operator to proactively identify vulnerabilities in telco infrastructure and emulate adversarial techniques to improve defenses. You will work with internal teams to simulate APTs and tailor engagements for 4G/5G networks, cloud tech, and enterprise-grade systems.

The role supports hybrid work from any US Verizon hub location, with collaboration across security and operations to lift the organization’s security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work and/or military experience or specialized training.
• Strong understanding of 4G/5G protocols and interfaces including GTP, Diameter, SS7, S1-MME, S1-U, and HTTP/2 Service-Based Architecture.
• Strong understanding of 4G/5G core network architecture and supporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Adversary Emulation: conduct red team exercises emulating threats against telco systems.
• Vulnerability exploitation: identify, exploit, and report vulnerabilities in telco infrastructure.
• Post-engagement reporting: deliver technical reports and executive summaries with findings and remediation.
• Collaboration: work with blue team to develop detection and prevention strategies.
• Threat intelligence: stay updated on attack techniques relevant to telecoms.
• Continuous improvement: provide insights to enhance security posture with peers.
