Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Distinguished Red Team Operator to join our Enterprise Red Team. You will lead and participate in red team campaigns testing, measuring, and improving people, process, and technology across Verizon.

You will mentor junior testers, translate technical findings for executives, and drive offensive security initiatives with a focus on realistic adversary emulation and risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Eight+ years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity, including leadership in security campaigns.
• Six+ years of direct offensive security experience in Adversary Emulation/Threat Emulation or Threat Simulation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute full-spectrum Red Team engagements, including adversary emulation and social engineering.
• Ingest and operationalize Cyber Threat Intelligence to create realistic emulation plans mapped to MITRE ATT&CK.
• Architect and maintain offensive tooling, scripts, and methodologies to expand Red Team capabilities.
• Translate strategic goals into concrete execution plans with minimal oversight.
• Drive cross-functional security initiatives and lead major risk-reducing projects.
• Configure and deploy advanced attacker techniques in live environments with minimal business disruption.
• Mentor team members on offensive campaigns, vulnerability analysis, OPSEC, and professional development.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert for vulnerability impact ratings and risk communication.
