Job summary

NextGen Security LLC seeks an experienced electronic security service technician to join our fast-growing team in Midland, TX. You will install, program, test, and commission enterprise-level access control and IDS systems, and support field devices on complex security projects.

Travel is possible; you will lead field projects, supervise subcontractors, and collaborate with internal teams while upholding safety standards in refinery/chemical plant environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience installing and maintaining enterprise-level access control systems and IDS.
• 5+ years leading security projects.
• 3+ years supervising sub-contractors.
• Experience (non-manager) and non-exempt status.
• Networking and IT knowledge.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
• Familiarization with local electronic security codes and industry standards.
• Ability to work safely in a chemical plant environment.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience with installing and maintaining:

• Enterprise-level access control systems.
• Intrusion detection systems (IDS), both fiber and copper based.

• 5+ years leading security projects
• 3+ years supervising sub-contractors
• Experience (non‑manager)
• Non‑exempt
• Networking and IT knowledge
• Superior problem‑solving and communication skills
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Familiarization with local electronic security codes and industry standards
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
• Understanding and ability to work safely in a chemical plant environment
• Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project and other Microsoft products

Preferred Qualifications

• Access Control System Vendor Certifications in Software House, Genetec, Open Options, ProWatch and/or Lenel.
• Video Management System Vendor Certifications in Genetec, OnSSI, MaxPro, and/or Milestone.
• Intrusion Detection System Vendor Certifications in Senstar / Optellios, and/or FFT.
• Experience in computer operating systems, network design and implementation.
• TWIC Cardholder.
