Job summary

NextGen Security LLC in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced electronic security service technician to join our fast growing team. You will oversee projects in the field, program systems, and support activation and commissioning of installations.

The role requires at least 5 years installing and maintaining enterprise-level access control, IDS (fiber and copper based), and IP-based VMS. You will travel as needed and work with security codes and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience installing and maintaining enterprise-level access control systems.
• Experience with IDS (fiber and copper-based).
• Experience with IP-based video management systems (VMS).
• Networking and IT knowledge.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
• Familiarization with local electronic security codes and industry standards.
• Ability to work safely in a chemical plant environment.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project and other Microsoft products.

What We’re Looking For

What You’ll Be Doing

• Project oversight in the field

What You Bring To The Table

Minimum of 5 years of experience with installing and maintaining:

• Enterprise-level access control systems.
• Intrusion detection systems (IDS), both fiber and copper based.
• Enterprise-level video management systems (IP-based).
• Networking and IT knowledge.
• Superior problem solving and communication skills.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarization with local electronic security codes and industry standards.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
• Understanding and ability to work safely in a chemical plant environment.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project and other Microsoft products.

Preferred

• Access Control System Vendor Certifications in Software House, Genetec, Open Options, ProWatch and/or Lenel.
• Video Management System Vendor Certifications in Genetec, OnSSI, MaxPro, and/or Milestone.
• Intrusion Detection System Vendor Certifications in Senstar/Optellios, and/or FFT.
• Experience in computer operating systems, network design and implementation.
• TWIC Cardholder.
