Job summary

NextGen Security LLC in Houston, TX seeks an experienced System Technician to join a fast-growing team. You will install field cabling and equipment, perform programming, and assist with project activations. Some travel may be required as projects expand across sites.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in electronic security installation, familiarity with access control, IP-based video management systems, and strong IT/networking knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience with installing and maintaining electronic security systems.
• Experience with access control systems and IP-based video management systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Physically install field cabling and field equipment.
• Perform some system programming and commissioning.
• Support project activation and handover.
• Travel as required.

What We’re Looking For

An experienced electronic security installation technician to join our fast growing and dynamic team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Physically installing Field cabling and field equipment
• Some System programming
• Project activation and commissioning
• Some travel may be required.

What You Bring To The Table

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with installing and maintaining:
• Electronic access control systems.
• IP-Based video management systems
• Networking and IT knowledge.
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
• Superior problem solving and communication skills.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarization with local electronic security codes and industry standards.
• Understanding and ability to work safely in a chemical plant environment.
• Experience with Microsoft products such as Outlook, Work, Excel Etc.

Preferred

• Access Control System Vendor Certifications in Software House, Genetec, ProWatch and/or Lenel or similar.
• Video Management System Vendor Certifications in Genetec, OnSSI, MaxPro, and/or Milestone or similar.
• Intrusion Detection System Vendor Certifications in Senstar/Optellios, and/or FFT.
• Experience in computer operating systems, network design and implementation.
• TWIC Cardholder.
