Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Writer in the San Jose area to transform electrical, mechanical, software, service, and test information into user-focused documentation. You will lead content across new product programs and engineering changes, verify procedures on equipment, and strengthen content standards.

You will mentor writers, collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and Quality teams, and ensure release-ready documentation across the equipment lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 10+ years of technical writing in semiconductor/electrical equipment.
• Experience documenting complex equipment and collaborating with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead documentation strategy for new products and engineering changes.
• Create installation, assembly, operation, maintenance, service, and test docs for print/web.
• Translate complex input into clear procedures for technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Validate procedures on equipment with engineers and technicians.
• Review engineering redlines for accuracy, completeness, and usability.
• Define docs standards, templates, tools, and release workflows.
• Mentor writers and participate in cross-functional product teams.
