Job summary

VEIR is seeking an experienced Technical Writer for a 6-month contract to own customer- and field-facing documentation for its superconducting power delivery systems. You’ll create installation and O&M manuals, commissioning procedures, and supporting specifications, working with Engineering, Field Service, and Manufacturing to turn CAD and P&IDs into clear documentation for EPCs and technicians.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional technical writing experience in hardware/industrial space.
• Experience writing safety-critical procedures with hazard messaging.
• Ability to read engineering source material (CAD, P&IDs, schematics).
• Proven ability to manage large documents and version control.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end authoring of field product documents (Installation Manuals, O&M Manuals).
• Maintain supporting technical documents (Functional Specifications, Control Philosophy, SOPs).
• Assemble data center submittal packages and contribute to datasheets, guides, and training materials.
• Interview SMEs and work from engineering source material to produce accurate procedures.
• Write clear, task-based procedures for installers and field technicians; apply ANSI NFPA safety messaging.
