Job summary

Amperesand, Inc. is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join the Deployment team to lead comprehensive product documentation and build an online portal for customers and partners.

This role supports Sales, Deployment, Service, and Policy with clear, accurate, and compliant material across the product lifecycle. You will author manuals for installation, commissioning, operations, and safety, translate complex concepts, manage visuals, and ensure consistency with established standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical writing experience for hardware and software products.
• Experience authoring installation, commissioning, operations, service, and safety documentation.
• Ability to grasp concepts across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and networking.
• Experience planning, building, or administering a document management system or customer/partner portal.
• Proficiency with publishing tools and graphics tools.
• Excellent project management and attention to accuracy in technical publications.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to manufacturing, installation, or job sites.

Responsibilities

• Author, edit, and maintain the full suite of product documentation including sales content, site design guides, installation manuals, commissioning procedures, operations and maintenance manuals, service and troubleshooting guides, safety documentation, applications notes and technical whitepapers.
• Translate complex electrical, mechanical, and control-system information into clear, accurate, and standardized documentation with support from internal teams.
• Manage source files, graphics, diagrams, and illustrations, coordinating with engineering and design resources to keep visuals current and technically accurate.
• Develop and enforce documentation standards, templates, and style guides to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across all manuals andtechnical publications.
• Plan, manage, and prioritize documentation projects against product development and release schedules, coordinating revisions for new products, engineering changes, and field updates.
• Design, implement, and administer an online document portal, including site structure, content organization, and access permissions.
• Monitor portal usage and gather customer/partner feedback to continuously improve document findability, clarity, and the overall self-service support experience.
• Lead translation and localization efforts for international markets, ensuring technical accuracy is preserved across languages.
